I was waiting for the Kindle Fire HD 
to be launched in the UK for months, ever since it was released in the US and finally was able to order one a month ago from Amazon to celebrate my birthday. I’d waited for 2 weeks after the UK launch and studied the other options to make sure that this was the ebook reader that I really wanted.
Although there is lots of information on Amazon about the various Kindle products it can be a bit confusing and especially for those of us who are not into technology or Internet based products.
My Kindle Fire arrived by Royal Mail. It took a bit of getting into the ‘frustration free’ smart black box and once I got the package open I set my Kindle on charge. To my surprise and disappointment I found that it didn’t have an independent charger, just a cable to connect and charge it through my computer or laptop.
